I was at a shop, in California, and they were selling Micro Conversion Kit (MCK) pistol braces, into which you insert a Glock pistol. This is the new version of the Roni conversion system. They told me these were legal for non LEO but I'm skeptical. It is a "brace" instead of a "stock" system, but seems to me they add several banned features to a pistol. Are they legal?

Pistol brace for Glock?
Tags: None -
As far as I know the micro roni kits created a forward grip and were deemed no-go. Unless there has been something significant changed, I think the liability is on the end user to decide what interpretations they are comfortable with.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

Good luck convincing most LEO that it's legal to use. Regardless of the ultimate court ruling, you might get it confiscated, and perhaps also a ride if seen using it. Caveat utilitorLast edited by onelonehorseman; 03-10-2020, 7:26 AM.sigpicComment

Even if it is legal, how long until they close the " loop hole"( thier words i am sure) to where you have to register it as an assualt weapon and make it so once you attach a glock to it, you can never remove it.
Thats assuming that's all they make you do.Comment

Ok look at the gun . The forward grip is No different than the Afg Magpul Sells which Is not a Forward grip. or Many will say ,Many have the Afg on a Ar pistol . The Next thing someone will say is the Barrel Shroud that encloses the barrel. The factory slide already does enclose the barrel.
As far as Some saying once you put Glock in the Roni cant remove it . It's still classified as a Pistol . Not a rifle . Unit has a Brace not a stock and dosnt have a 16 inch plus Barrel .. , And if you turn a Rifle into a pistol. You can change it back to pistol. If something starts as pistol it's always a pistol as Registered.
But do your own Research. I want one for my Glock 20 but have never seen a Roni in person So would like to see build quality.Comment

When combined with airsoft it is CA legal.
When combined with a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine, it makes an illegal assault weapon. [PC 30515(a)(4)(B)]
When combined with a semi-auto pistol that has a fixed magazine, it can be CA legal as long as the new configuration does not meet the CA definition of a SBR.sigpic

CA assault weapons laws for handguns are similar to but different from those for rifles and shotguns.Ok look at the gun . CA assault weapons laws for handguns prohibits a semi-auto pistol that does not have a fixed magazine from having a "second handgrip". [PC 30515(a)(4)(B)]
A "second handgrip" is any grip/device/textured surface that is not the pistol's grip and can be utilized by the non-trigger hand to support the pistol.
CA SBR/SBS laws are more strict than Federal SBR/SBS laws.
CA laws allows any handgun to also be classified as a SBR/SBS, if it meets the CA defintion of a SBR/SBS. [PC 16530(b) and 16640(b)]
CA SBR/SBS laws classifies any firearm that is made from a rifle and has a less than 16" barrel or less than 26" overall length to be a SBR. [PC 17170(c)]
Even though Federal laws/regulations makes it legal to make a handgun into a rifle and make it back into a handgun, CA laws/regulations makes it illegal to do so (weapon made from a rifle).
^The firearm was configured as a rifle, then made into a firearm with a less than 16" barrel or less than 26" overall length, which makes it a SBR [PC 17170(c)]. It does not matter if the firearm was originally registered as a handgun, it can also be a SBR/SBS [PC 16530(b) and 16640(b)].Last edited by Quiet; 03-10-2020, 11:38 PM.sigpic

I was 100% wrong . I always read the forward grip on a pistol to be defined as a vertical/pistol grip. Not a Textured gripCA assault weapons laws for handguns are similar to but different from those for rifles and shotguns.
