LAX ammo is usually pretty good for local pickups.

Online prices are different than in-store so call first.

All depends. I recently took advantage of a sale Big5 was having and bought 4,000 rounds of Winchester 9mm 124gr NATO. Bass Pro Shops is currently having a "2nd Ammendment Savings" sale and 9mm Blazer Brass was on sale but last time I checked it was all sold out. Canyon Sports in Martinez recently had Blazer Brass 9mm 1,000 bulk boxes for $200 but they're sold out now.

My point is if you look around you can find decent deals.

Havnt been to a gun show since the ammo law came into effect but I surmise that they wont have internet access to enable the background check.
Yeah shop around ALL over to find deals and who will ship to a FFL and find out the cost of what that FFL may charge.

If you're somewhere in Southern California Ammo Bros has a few stores that sell bulk. I'm not sure how their prices compare to other stores though.
As far as a gun show, you would have to wait for one in your area.

Been a long time since I went, but after gas, entrance fee, possible parking fees and time it is not worth it to me to save what is likely only going to be a few bucks unless you intend to buy a lot of ammo.

Nope, Any gunshow in SoCal has the ability to do the check.

And OP, just stock up on Wolf Gold and call it a day. Easy to price check and good for shooting.

I just bought some bulk pack 9mm CCI Speer ammo (loose pack) 1,000 rounds $189.99 plus tax, from Guns Direct in Burbank. The had other calibers in bulk boxes.
