    What I hate....

Not many things bug me and certainly not deserve my hate. But what I really hate is the term "Assault Rifle/weapon" I want this negative term used by the enemies of the second amendment eradicated from our vocabulary. I personally refer to them as Battle style rifles or battle rifles. Assault just sounds negative. Just needed to vent since i see and hear this god forsaking term all over the place. let's put our heads together and eradicate this negative term once and for all.

Im sure the antis would be calling them "high powered racist rape rifles" if they could get away with it. "Military style autoloading rifle" works for me.

The problem is that "assault weapon" is specifically codified in CA and for the sake of clarity and specificity when discussing them, it is best to use the term as it is written in the law.

I often write so-call "assault weapon" or say that something is a so-call "assault weapon" pursuant to 12276.1 (or whatever code is applicable) when referring to them.

To avoid confusion, when I am discussing the legality of something or whether a particular rifle configuration makes something an illegal "assault weapon," I will use that term to be specific.
