    Portuguese 7.62x39...how is it?

Ammoman has 1,000 rounds shipped for $139...

How is this Portuguese 7.62x39? Better than the South African?

It's Magnetic, so if your range doesn't allow steel core ammo, you can't shoot it. I bought a 200 round battle pack from a local gun store and it was advertised as "Non Magnetic" -- got it home and the bullet sticks to a magnet...so, I can't shoot it unless I take it to BLM land. I figure i'll keep it as SHTF ammo.

      Tony,
Wait for the gun show and buy Wolf for 84 bucks per 1000 from Miwall.
The only South Africian 7.62x39 that I know of is Cheeta brand and although very good ammo, is too pricey IMHO.
Now if you are talking 7.62x51 (.308), I like South Africian better than the Portuquese, eventhough the Port is pretty good stuff.

I have found Port to have harder primers than SA, but it is otherwise fine.

I haven't used any of the Port 7.62X39 but have found the port 7.62x54 to have hard primers.
          Hard to beat Wolf 7.62x39.
