    LE Only Weapons

    Hello all,

    This is likely a very stupid question, but are LE only weps like the all black P226 Legion off the table for civilians?

    I believe it's just a color option, nothing else different about it, and don't really know how LE Only weps work, unless it's exactly as it sounds.

    LE only means they are off roster. CANNOT buy new. Find one of what you want ppt but be prepared to pay a premium

      Its not a matter of being law enforcement. Its a matter of the California roster of allowable handguns. LEO's are exempt from the roster and can buy any handgun they like. The rest of us are stuck choosing from a narrow and dated list of handguns. The only way to acquire an off roster handgun is to purchase one for a private party. You'll pay a big premium for this.

          In california, the sheeple must buy from a list of approved firearms... handguns mainly.....


          Law Enforcement can use a letter from their Chief and buy a firearm that is not available to the sheeple....

          In other states, say Nevada, anyone can buy them....

          Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

          Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

              A Legion has never been on the roster, in any color. They are different inside (trigger for instance) compared to a standard P226.

              You can get what you want, but it will be difficult and expensive. Like double retail $$.

              Or you could just get a nice, off roster P226 and put the Legion (Grayguns P-SAIT) trigger and a Grayguns sear/SRT kit in. Even better IMO, and they are usually all black

                Easier to understand answer: you cannot buy one new. You can 1: buy one used from another CA resident 2: import one as a new resident (if you already owned it when you moved to CA) or 3: receive one as a gift from a grandparent/parent or child that is a resident of another state. The first one is expensive, the second is a limited circumstance, and the third only works if it's a true gift.

                      any colored legion is off roster, and they are the same functionally as an enhanced elite (legal) with only cosmetic differences (and awesome grips).

                      you can make your own version, or buy used at a premium via ppt.

                      i made my own P229 clone, and bought a P226 via PPT.

                      as far as why it isn't on the roster, i think it comes down to if SIG wanted to deal with it, and who wants a legion with that stupid pop up LCI?

                        It has nothing to do with what Sig wants or does not want to do. In order to get a new semi-auto pistol on the roster, it must implement microstamping.

                        Since microstamping is a fictional technology, no new pistols can ever be added until either someone invents a microstamping scheme that works or the courts overturn the law.

                            A citizen or class of citizens may not be granted privileges or immunities not granted on the same terms to all citizens. Privileges or immunities granted by the Legislature may be altered or revoked.
                            I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...
