    Which upper is better?

Putting together an AR pistol. Which of these uppers would you prefer or think is better?

    https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-...no-bcg-ch.html $323 shipped

    OR

    https://www.primaryarms.com/aero-pre...ndguard-10.5in $285 shipped

The PSA Upper has a FN barrel, if that makes a difference.

going for a mk18 mod 0 style build.

    Thank you!

Dont think you can build a AR pistol in California.

          @wolfman,

It's already been sorted. It's a CA7. Not looking for anyone's legal interpretation, just which barrel/upper is the better one.

You can only if you have a pistol lower. This lower should be originally DROSed as a pistol before the ban, PPTed from a person who registered it as a pistol before the ban or bought as a pistol. The only way to buy a pistol lower is with the Franklin Armory CA7 (cheapest) or other of their pistol products on the CA roster.

Considering it's just the barrel and upper the PSA is a better barrel but the aero still isn't bad. You are basically paying for the handguard

Also, I just got that upper as a kit. Hope it shoots reliably. I am also going to try a Bear Creek Arsenal 7.5". It was shipped for $200 with a BCG and handle.

I had the prices reversed. Right now Primary Arms is having a sale and i can get the Aero upper for $285, while the PSA is $323. So the magpul handguard option is the cheaper of the two.

Wait, so the CA7 can be legally configured to a semi auto?

I got the PSA classic 10.5. I have their PSA10 kit and it worked out of the box.

CA7 - I'm not a lawyer but the consensus here is if you maglock it you can use a 10rd mag only and make it semi. The only thing you can't do is put a 10+ mag or forend grip.

I don't take it as snarky at all. It would be nice if we knew for sure that it's legal. I understand that it will probably take a court case to make the decision.
(who knows when or if that will happen)

Anyway, have fun with it. Safe shooting.
