Buffalo Bore +P in Kahr p380

Has anybody tried the Buffalo Bore +P in the Kahr p380? Seems like it's nearly a 9mm in velocity & weight. I'm just curious if it's that much more difficult to run multiple shots effectively from such a small platform, negating whatever advantage you'd get from the extra power.

I'm aware it's a hardcast & the potential issues from overpenetration. I'm just curious about the shoot-ability of the cartridge in that small a gun.

Order a box of 20 and give ‘em a shot to paper... see if you can easily get the muzzle back under control. I would think the hardcast would help considering the scale of ballistics one is dealing with in .380

Sounds like a capable little backup combo.

For one thing, you don’t have to worry about over-penetration from any .380.

Running ball ammo is a great idea for the .380s in particular, to get additional penetration depth.

I carry a p380 from time to time.
If it has any issue it would be possibly having issues from the extra power adversely affecting cycling.
Also, haven’t seen the Buffalo Bore load you mention, but if it is flat nose, I would worry more about it feeding consistently.

All said, Buffalo Bore is top quality ammo and I may give this stuff a look for my pea shooter.

      Edit.

I recall that the p380 has polygonal rifling, whereas the cw380 has conventional rifling.

Typically polygonal rifling clogs from repeated lead use, but not sure how kahr feels about running lead through the guns.
Further, I recall that hard cast lead has less of an issue with this problem and usu their heavier loads are hard cast lead.

The last two comments may be wrong, but this is what I recall anyway.

I recall seeing one gel test where there was a LOT of penetration -- some 40"+ with BB +P hardcast. Not sure if that was a case of non-standard density in the gel or a legit 40"+.

Yes, hardcast is not recommended. But it's not the same as pure lead.

Question still remains -- how shootable is it? Ballistics aside, if it can't stay put in my hand, what's the point?

Keep in mind, they rape you on shipping so the more you order the less you pay "per box"

I don't find shooting that Kahr particularly enjoyable to shoot with regular ammo. This should be interesting to try. Give it a try. I wouldn't worry too much about the type of rifling. If the ammo doesn't keyhole, you know it's working. Leading up? Have to try to see.
