i hope PSA makes a 556 variant that takes regular ar15 mags.

that would be a very underserved market. since now the saiga's and vepr and i believe zastava aren't imported/made anymore. and those guys were the only 556 AK's on the market i believe.

but then again, i dunno how big the demand is for a 556 AK. i know i want one only cause i don't want to have to buy another ammo caliber but i want an AK patterned rifle. my current choices is really the galil ace and i think that is it.

Zastava USA said they would be importing 5.56x45mm M85 pistols and rifles soon.
^They will be using original Zastava 5.56 AK magazines.

Bit of a bump: Some impressive news about a gen-3 PSA AK .

Battlefield Vegas went through 17,025 rounds through it before it started key-holing. "The rest of the gun is working without issue, as well as still hav ing proper headspace. No repairs or parts were needed to be replaced on this PSAK during the 17,025 rounds".

Yeah, it was shot in full-auto there.

Nothing was wrong with it. It wore out the barrel on full auto. Functioned like it should of. 17,000 rounds of full auto will wear out a barrel.

This was with their nitrided barrel too. I imagine these FN barrels should stay accurate longer Either way, it'd take me quite a while to get to 17k.

Yeah, that Battlefield Vegas stuff is irrelevant to the gun being discussed in this thread. If a chrome-lined CHF barrel wore out in 17k rounds, that would be a concern.

True. I felt it was relevant in that it's reassuring that their cheaper/less featured build has held up quite well; That they've about nailed down the process.

unless it can use ar15 mags like magpul, usgi, lancer, etc i am not interested.

that was why i liked the zastava pap m90np. especially now after freedom week, i am fully loaded down with boxes of ar15 30-100 round magazines.
