    a question...

I have a friend who has done a real solid for me. To show my appreciation I want to give him a couple of my Mosins for his sons.
He lives in Oregon and I plan to deliver them if I can. Can anybody lead me to what I need to know about the legalities of this? I know Oregon is a lot more relaxed than Ca. is.

Unless he has a 03FFL, you have to transfer them through a Oregon FFL. You can go to a FFL there with your friend if the FFL will take walk-in transfers from non-licensees.

If they are antiques (pre-1898), they are not firearms under ANY regulations.
If they are C&R (50 years old or more or specifically named in the C&R list) then one person should be a C&R licensee to move them across state lines to satisfy the federal requirement that arms transfers across state lines are handled by licensed dealers/collectors.
If nobody is licensed, then the guns should be transferred through a licensed dealer in the state they are going to.

Antiques are pre-1899, so 1898 or older are GTG.
