    Attractive, lockable longgun mount?

I like my cowboy guns. I think they look pretty nice. Never been able to find a mount that both displays and locks them safely, and allows for quick access?

We have kiddo's with lots of friends - so not being locked up isn't an option.

What do you use, what have you seen?

Would either be a levergun (94, 336, etc) or a double barrel coach gun...

If I were interested in showing off my guns I would just as soon weld up a cabinet frame with a hinged front, screw some 3/4 ply on the back and screw it all into a couple of studs. Screw some 3/4 Lexan to the remaining sides, put some paneling on the back, panel the sides and front leaving windows, install some LEDs, install a deadbolt or two of my choice and a nice wood gun rack and call it done.

Looks a lot like Dad’s gun rack while being harder to break into. Hard enough to deter kids that don’t steel and copy a key (or pick the lock).

When the kids were in the house we used to call guns and shooting "Fight Club." As in, "hey, can we go to fight club this weekend?"

And what's the first rule about fight club?

YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

The last thing in world I wanted was the school calling because one of the kids was talking about guns in class. Nor did I want to deal with idiot parents of their friends. To be clear, I would always answer honestly if a parent asked if we had guns in the house. But I sure didn't want to encourage it.

Your kid's friends will talk to their parents. If you're willing to deal with that headache then display your guns. But also remember that any service people you have in the house will see that you have guns too.
