    Gun Broker experiences

I have done a few deals here and all went really good. have been looking at GB lately and wondering how it has been for those that used that site?

Im all set with a great FFL so at least that part is ok.

Just wonder what mistakes to avoid, ect.

    Thanks

My first experience was great. I purchased a Glock 27. Beware that not everyone will ship to CA.

I have bought one, sold one here on Calguns and both were great.
I have now bought one, sold one on Gunbroker and both transactions were great. The easiest one was a rifle I just sold on Gunbroker. The guy sent payment and an FFL letter and I mailed him/ or his FFL the gun. Pretty cool mailing a rifle and not having to pay any fees. Simple CADOJ form to fill out for Firearm No Longer In Possession.

It is what it is, and for me it has been good. I have even bought from those that say they will not ship to CA. all I did was send a question to them and ask why and talk to them about their item and they said "no problem if you win it I will ship it to you".

I've had nothing but good experinces with GB. Buying and selling. When buying, I find it beneficial to always email first. I don't want any Ca issues after I have bid

Gunbroker huh.... go 2 threads down and read "hilarious"

All were fine ,save for the guy who would not give his name, just initials ,and wanted a MO to go to a PO box.
              He gave me my only {-}

That .45 cartridge auction is hilarious!

It seems to me that the Calguns sales are good for the seller and hit or miss for the buyer. I've sold 2 hand guns in about 15 minutes here but have never been fast enough to buy. The ones I like are already sold by the time I see 'em. So I've had to look on GB for used guns & stuff.

For the most part GB has been a good experience but I did get semi burned twice. A '69 10/22 I bought was listed at 99% with seemingly great pix of the exterior condition. But when I got my hands on it I'd never seen a dirtier chamber, bore, & trigger group on any rifle anywhere. The seller did refund some of the dinero.

I also bought a walnut stock that I specifically asked about dings & dents. The pic was of only one side with so-so lighting. The seller replied "not many and nothing major". As you could guess, the stock had a 3/4" chip missing from the hidden side. The seller claimed it happened in the mail and offered to contact USPS. Of course he needed glasses or he was just another liar. Said he would send a few bucks back but they never showed.

Anyway, GB isn't perfect but I still use it. Only now I prefer to search for California auctions. Someday I might sell a gun on GB and add to the description; "will sell and ship or PPT to CA only". Amen!

I use gunbroker, mostly to aquire C&R long guns.

Since, I have a C&R FFL, they get shipped directly to me.

Last thing I bought was a few months ago, an excellent condition 1950 (Russian) Tula SKS for $300 shipped.

I've had a decent experience overall, only thing that wasn't Kosher was a rifle being left at the door of my FFL's house while he was at work.

I have used GB for several years now and have only been disappointed once.
Most recently I sold a Ruger Mini-14 and stated in my auction: "Please note: If you are a seller on GunBroker and refuse to sell to California buyers, please do not bid, I will not sell to you."

Just a update, I found what I was looking for, and after a few emails the gun is now in the 10 day wait at my FFL, pretty easy.

I bought my OLL through GB.

                              No problems.
