    Outdoor Shooting

I know this question has been asked on a few occasions, however, everything I find seems to be a bit dated. Anyhow, I live in Modesto and am looking for an area (BLM, Forest, etc.) where I can go shoot. I know of a few ranges near me, but I prefer open areas. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

This gets asked numerous times, so have a thick skin when you read the answers.

The places I used to shoot at when I lived in CA, are still being used by my friends, and we never disclosed the locations to anyone outside of our group. Think of it as a secret surf spot.

The OP says he's in Modesto.

OP, you might want to search around the CG 209 Chapter Forum for some ideas.
