I’m slowly beginning my move to Florida and wanted to take some of my firearms with me. I’m going to be flying. With all the new laws about semi automatic rifles I wanted to make sure. If anyone has insights to help that would be awesome!! Of course standard locked case, unloaded magazines, and ammo in a secured container.

Check the website of the airline you are using. They each have slightly differs regs. Also check the TSA website and learn their rules. You need non TSA locks. They are not supposed to open the case without you being present but many times they will insist on that. It's frustrating.
Make sure when you go to the check in counter tell them " I would like to declare my firearms for travel" or something along those lines. Don't go up and say "I've got a gun", lol. They'll make you wait for a TSA agent and the inspection of said firearms.
Alaska Air lets you fly with 40lbs of ammo!!! -
Southwest is 2 checked bags free and 11 lbs of ammo. The harbor freight cases are great and their locks work also.
Say good morning I need to declare a firearm. They give you a paper to fill out and put a copy in the cases. TSA won’t know a black scary gun from ‘54 model 70. I just flew with both in the same case and the only person to see was the gal behind the ticket counter. I flew out of Long Beach. Some airports say something like we must check all oversized or blah blah... I shipped via USPS a 26 lbs box of other stuff and ammo but did have loaded mags in the case. It’s very easy. Read and print and reread the regs. You would have to be an old guy with an M1 to try and carry it on. Jk it’s really hard to screw up with a little foresight.Originally posted by smashycrashyDamn, you are right, I suckOriginally posted by OleCussI despise Trump.Comment

Note that TSA's website was changed recently-ish and now says that you can use TSA locks. I still wouldn't but they will accept them...according to their website at least.Check the website of the airline you are using. They each have slightly differs regs. If you're going through an airport where there isn't a secondary inspection and TSA looks at you case in back, it's a good idea to wait 20 minutes or so before you pass through security in case the call you back for any reason. So arrive early enough."Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."

Featureless or free state doesn’t matter after you make it to the airport. TSA is federal and they have zero people there to inspect for commie laws only airplane safety regulations.Originally posted by smashycrashyDamn, you are right, I suckOriginally posted by OleCussI despise Trump.Comment
