    SP5K - Magazine Loading Question

It would have to be a fixed 10 round magazine. How you would load the magazine is up to your creativity because the pistol would need to be incapable of being fired while disassembled for reloading.
Also you’d have to be roster exempt or it would need to be purchased from a private party.

That’s where I’m confused as how do you reload a fixed mag and there’s not a lot of hk sp5k’s laying around to play with. I’m not wanting to remove the end plate and dissemble the gun just to top load the magazine. Thanks for the information and yeah I’d have to pay the off roster tax.

Currently no way to reload without going through the ejection port or breaking it down as you describe. Adding any pistol brace shouldn't be a problem. I wanted one too but decided I'll wait till I get to a free America only 9 years left /s . I linked one of the only mag latches I found. There is also one for sale in the marketplace already mag locked.

MagLatch MP5 is the only fixed magazine compliance device for HK 94/MP5 SD/MP5 Clones with or without a paddle style release. Bypass California's Assault We...

The mag must be fixed so that the action has to be disassembled to remove the mag. How you deal with that is anyones guess. IMO it simply is no longer a desirable pistol in CA given the price and the limitations, unless you are a collector with no plans to really use it.

And I personally would not run a brace in CA. Other people have different risk tolerances.

This right here was my only other thought something like the BF loader. That would need assistance from some designers or 3d printing enthusiasts.

Yeah thats the downside but if ypu can get the general idea of making it work then it be a success.

I don't know if anyone here posting "load it through the ejection port" has actually seen an mp5 with the bolt locked back and where the magazine sits in relation to the ejection port. The bolt head , cocking tube are definitely in the way , the magazine sits forward and down from the ejection port and the ejection port is pretty small to be inserting anything into.

The only reasonable method I can find would be installing something like the maglatch https://maglatchusa.com/mp5-sp5k-z5-fixed-magazine-kit/ and pulling the trigger housing loose to drop the mag out. As far as I see on my clone there's not much chance I could get my fingers in the ejection port with a round to load.
Luckily I'm not roster exempt so I don't have to decide how to neuter that nice new SP5...

In order to be CA legal, it needs to have a fixed 10 round magazine that can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action.
