It’s an asset. Lost it in the trust as to who gets what assets.
The relevant law on transfer will be relevant when you pass away.
If you have something that can’t be transferred, or transferred in the state, the heirs and executor of the trust get to comply with the law.
The executor decides what happens to the trust assets in line with the trusts instructions.
Example- you own a RAW. It gets sold out of state based upon today’s laws or gifted to an out of state relative / friend who can legally own it in that state.
I am on a friends trust. He is in a free state and has suppressors and SBRs.
Should he died, I get to deal with how to legally dispose of the assets on behalf of his trust.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

Right place; we do have at least one member who is an attorney in this business - IIRC, "Guntrust" is his handle.
You do NOT need the NLIP as part of transfer through inheritance; if it's in California, the receiver of the gun(s) files an OPLAW form, https://oag.ca.gov/sites/all/files/a...orms/oplaw.pdfARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page
Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!Comment

If anyone interested, there is a free seminar offered by an attorney here on calguns regarding firearms and estate planning. As soon as it gets established next week I’ll post. PM for details or contact “guntrust” calguns memberComment
