    First build is almost complete!!!

I'm expecting to receive my charging handle, handguard, gas block and tubes tomorrow so I'll be just about finished. I still need to get a muzzle device but am super excited to be able to try out this beauty. Before i take it to a range i had a question....

Should i take it to a local shop or gunsmith and have them give it a look? Maybe make sure everything is state compliant and safe?

Any last minute advice i might need to know?

you should follow the flowchart on here and not rely on a gun shop employee for legal advice. assuming you’re building an AR, buy headspace gauges.

You should have made sure everything is compliant prior to purchasing anything. Taking it to someone else to check if it is legal or not is foolish. YOU need to know the laws. There is a flowchart at the top of the page, it is pretty simple.

Do you think when you go to court "Joe bob said it was cool" is a good defense?

Know the laws so you can follow them. Do not depend on others to keep you out of jail

        Simple:

1- If it has a collapsible stock, any vertical grips, OR anything on the muzzle that suppresses flash, make it a fixed mag and only use 10 rd mags

2- if you have an immovable stock AND nothing on the muzzle that suppresses flash, MAKE SURE u have a fin grip variant, and feel free to use +10 rd mags

No exceptions, no ifs or buts. Assuming ur rifle is 16inches, no grenade launcher, suppressor, and not full auto...

So obviously checking with someone at a shop was a bad idea lol. I researched what was needed to be compliant before purchasing and according to the flow chart everything is good.
