    Panoche Hills

Does anyone know if BLM has opened Panoche Hills for target shooting now that we've had rain?

Pull the seal off and screw the lid back on.
Then you can squeeze the mustard and it will come out of the bottle..

I believe it is open again...

There is a group of us planning to shoot there this weekend...the guy that organizes our shoot is the one that tracks things. The website should indicate the status...

Might be a bit muddy too far off that main access road on the ridge...

I believe it's open since 12/2. I planned on making the trip out to finally shoot this weekend as well.

I am interested in going. I have a buddy that lives close to there and I drove by there one day. Is there a designated shooting area there? Once you go through the gate, where do you go?

Go online and look at their map. There is an area in the southern part, closer to the main road that is used for shooting.

The northern access gate requires you to drive in a few miles to actually get onto the BLM area where you can shoot. There is a way side info/bathroom area way up on the overlook ridge with maps. The roads are obvious, there are some signs where you are not supposed to be going/shooting. Horse riding is in the same general area...be very aware of backstop conditions...

There are no designated shooting areas.

Once you go through the gate you keep going until you have BLM on both sides of you. From there you take any road you like until you find a spot that allows you to shoot whatever distance you want to shoot while not shooting over roads and still having a good backstop. You make park 15 feet off to the side of the road, but offroading is not permitted.
