I'd like to set up unpredictable pop up targets

I'm looking to add some more training and entertainment value to my target setup. I have several steel targets that ring when hit and some polymer bottles that swing when hit. I'm wondering if there are any semi-affordable target systems where the targets pop up, or flip up, or swing to face the shooter, preferably with a way to put them on some sort of a timer so that the shooter has to engage the targets in a random order. Or maybe even just a light that blinks near each target when it's time to shoot said target. Looking to spend about $500 if there is something good available at that price.

I'm also interested in non-steel reactive targets that are safe to shoot with a rifle at close range. Any suggestions?

RC car with red and yellow helium balloons. Yellow balloon is hostage, red balloon is bad guy.
Pop a yellow balloon, switch with driver of the car.
Shoot the car, depends on whos car it is.

Challenge Target has a Hostage Target system that swings in/out from behind cover. Might be something to look into.

Have you looked at something like this? Maybe you could rig several of them to different switches and have a buddy randomly have them turn. I dont have this and it doesnt seem to have the best reviews but maybe could work with some modifications.

The stuff is about 1/2” thick

Not sure how strong your electrical engineering skills are, but you could give building this a shot. Depending on how many pins you set up, you could vary how many targets you have and obviously using longer wiring will allow you to have more flexibility with target placement.

In the case of the link below, it's set up for 4 LEDs, turning on randomly, for .5 seconds then off for .5 seconds before another LED is illuminated.
