    Dont Tread on Me

Sorry, sounds like you did not get experience at your range. Its unfortunate that some folks don't realize how important it is to give a good first impression of the sport.

The course you quote looks good. I don't know where you are located. In the Bay Area there's an excellent group called BayProfs that offer something very similar. I took it and really did learn how to handle a gun safely and the basics of shooting. Without it I think I would have made safety errors and got frustrated figuring out how to hit a target well.

I also made some friends at the class and I've been on many a range trip with them since. You also get to learn where the friendly & safe ranges are in your area.

If you hinted at your location, you could probably convince a Calguns member or three to show up at a range for "moral support."

We kinda like that kind of thing.

Sounds like a helluva class. I might have to sign up for one sometime in the near future for fun.

Tundraman- I also live in Sacrameno area. There is an indoor handgun range in elk grove. costs $10 in range fees. I would be happy to take you to the range and let you try a couple of different handguns. I have a ruger 9mm and springfield .40subcompact also have a .38and a .357 revolver as well as a simple little .22. PM me if you are interested. PS I don't like cordova shooting center. they have a range Nazi that is hard to deal with and they don't seem interested in helping new shooters unless you want to pay for their class.

PSS I love to help new shooters, It is what keeps the sport alive and is a worthwhile endeavor

In any type of fight, & especially gun fights, there are no winners ..... just varying degrees of losers. The only fight you win is the one you never get into.

That's what I like about shooters. Most go out of there way to help each other!
