Self taught just learn through you guys and from Ruger forum.

This is a prime example of someone "buying technology" to compensate for failure to master the fundamentals of marksmanship or to avoid learning those fundementals correctly. Technology will NEVER relieve you of the responsibility of mastering the basics.

This shooter has clearly not mastered the basics and is a prime example of the shooter who should "get some professional training" instead of spending the money on lasers / technology and wasting ammunition reenforcing incorrect technique and building incorrect muscle memory that will only be more expensive and difficult to break. Every round this shooter sends left and low is more wasted money getting him farther and farther from his goal. Professional training is NOT found in advice here and on the Internet. Most of the "armchair experts" here and on the ruger forum probably shoot like he does. YouTube is no substitute for professional training either.

    Successful handgun marksmanship is the end result of solving the simultaneous equation represented by the fundentals of Combat handgun shooting;

    Stance
    Grip
    Sight alignment
    Sight picture
    Trigger control
    Follow thru

Successfully shooting a handgun is not unlike golf, boxing/fighting or ken jitsu in my experience.

Here... But, again, I taped off the laser so I don't see it...

I had to go on a business trip last week; and since I didn't want to skip my dry practice, I had to be a little creative...

Since the location was here in California - I don't have a CA CCW, the hotel wouldn't allow firearms, etc. I opted to bring my SiRT (which I haven't used in a year now). I also brought a few 2-inch Shoot-N-C targets which I can plaster on the hotel rooms, etc.

After having taped the muzzle of SiRT (to hide the laser) - I went to work:
      1. 2-in target 7-yd away (width of the hotel room). From Low Ready in 0.9-par. 3-min.
      2. 2-in target 7-yd away. From Compressed Ready in 0.7-par. 3-min.
      3. 2-in target 7-yd away. From Compressed Ready using only Strong Hand in 0.9-par. 3-min.
      4. 2-in targets 3-yd away. Aimed in - at the beep, press, transition then press in 0.5-par. 3-min. Focus is on moving the eyes before the pistol.

(*) Since the SiRT had different sights, a different trigger feel, etc. than my regular pistol - there were some handicaps in my drills. I usually do these from 10-yards.

It made for a nice warmup before I started my day...
