    Serial number look up

Is there a web site to find out the serial number what the gun is made by? Like the maker, model, caliber... Or if I don't get a response I'll post another with photos to identify it.

No. Pics are needed. Many manufacturers have guns with the same serial number. Same for different models.
    Poke'm with a stick!

No way using serial numbers . Must know make and model. Many duplicate serial numbers across spectrum of gun mfg.

ATF allows serial numbers to be re-used across different models by a manufacturer.

So let's use Glock as an example.
Glock 17 serial number can start at 1 and go to 50+ million.
Glock 22 serial number can start at 1 and go to 50+ million.

Therefore, there could be matching serial number glock 17's and 22's out there.

ATF requires ALL of the following to identify a SPECIFIC gun:
        Make
        Model
        Serial
        Caliber

Make and serial is not enough.
Make, Model and Serial MAY be enough but not if the maker offered the specific model in different calibers.
To be absolutely certain, you need to know Make, Model, Serial and Caliber.
That's why ALL of them get stamped on the gun.

We could play the game of "guess that gun with just a written description".

Until you go to someplace like tinypic or one of the other photo hosting sites and post photos back here.

Are there any markings on it whatsoever the name or an address, besides the serial number?

Does it say or do you know what caliber it is? Is it a rifle, shotgun, revolver, or semi-auto pistol?

            Okay I'll guess first.
Going on no hints whatsoever ....

I'm going to guess it's an early revolver, something that was imported from Europe to look like an American revolver.
They were making them everywhere from Belgium to Spain and everywhere in between. They were imported by the ton and sold to people who thought they we're getting something like genuine Smith and Wesson or Colt like quality.

Possibly a early semi-auto version of the same type but that's less likely.

My last guess would be an early American made .22 rifle, before they started marking them ( with serial numbers or even) company names.

The Colt website has these listings for the same serial number of one of my guns. It's 5 digits all numeric. Most manufacturers have added an alpha prefix to increase available numbers.
Kinda sleezy how Colt has figured out a way to charge more for the letter based on gun value. Guess they figure they want a piece of the extra value a factory letter adds to a guns value. https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/m...t+rev+9_16.pdf
