CMP M1 Garand Purchase FFL Info

    Hi,

I'm about to pop my order into the mail however I have ran into an issue. On the CMP order form it says for states that need shipping to an FFL dealer the CMP needs a copy of the dealer's license included in the order forms. However, I've called around and no dealers in my area are willing to send me a copy of their FFL due to fraud concerns (understandable and they have been advised by their ATF agents not to give out copies).

Does anybody know if I just include the name and address of the store will that be sufficient for the CMP to lookup their FFL information?

    Thanks

Knowing where you live might help.

Have your local shop send a copy of their license to the CMP..

I'm in the Bay Area. Yeah I think I'll call them and tell them to send it to the CMP. I'm sure the CMP already has it on file just want to make sure because I'm pretty sure the CMP will just throw out the forms if they find mistakes.

Is CMP willing to use ATF's E-Z Check? All receiving FFL needs to do is advise the first 3 and last 5 numbers of his license.

I bought a couple of rifles online. I seem to remember the FFL sending their info direct to the sellers FFL.

It might surprise you to find that the CMP does not have an FFL.
Some gun dealers may not want to send a copy to a company that does not have an FFL.

When I bought mine form the CMP, they shipped it directly to my address. I guess they changed the procedure.

My FFL guy would give me the signed FFL and let me send it. He gave me a copy when I went to the SHOT Show, so I can order and have the firearm shipped to his shop.

Thanks guys. Managed to convince my FFL to send me their license so we are good to go. Now the wait begins.
