    Plinking with the King

Going to Vegas to commune with Elvis and enjoy the dry weather. I haven't been there in a couple of decades. Want to function check two recently acquired semi-auto sporting rifles while I'm there. Not looking for range time since neither rifle has an optic mounted yet. Somebody must know of a nice plinking spot within 25 minutes of Las Vegas ... that I will pledge to leave cleaner than I found it. Thank you for your help.

PS. If it is your super double secret favorite spot, you could pm the location ;-)

I was in Henderson last year and just south of there on the old frontage road there were a bunch of places to shoot. Everyday we saw many shooting in the dessert.

I believe it is South Las Vegas blvd but I would have to check. Anyway, just head south past the M resort and you'll find it.

edit....road name is correct.....south of the 146 just off of 15. You can get on SLV bld from that 146/15 interchange.

IIRC Clark county range is closed Mon and maybe Tuesday. That said I 2nd that as a place to visit while in Las Vegas, as it is a lot of fun and really nice staff and shooters !

Is that the big dry lake on the south side of I-15?

Bass Pro Shops is basically right in town right off the freeway at the Silverton. No idea of what it costs though.
