HK VP 9-B Tactical + some cool kit

Actually, there is no VP 9-B Tactical so I decided to make my own. Purchased a factory HK threaded barrel and dropped it in. Heine Straight Eight suppressor-height sights are inbound and a Griffin Armament Resistance 9 is currently waiting for me in NFA jail.

I personally never had a big problem with paddle style mag releases but there is no doubt I am faster with a standard button. It is also just more intuitive for me so there ya go. I'll update this thread with new photos once I install the sights and receive my can. Only other changes will be getting rid of the cocking assists on the slide and ordering some +5 baseplates for the mags.

I train and compete with a Glock17 in a Safariland 6354DO holster (which the VP9 will not fit) on my belt. Browsing through their website I found that Safariland makes adapters for the UM92 universal military holster so you can use your QLS or MLS fork system. Genius! Who doesn't have a few of those holsters laying around right? I do plan on getting a 6390 holster for the VP9 which will also accommodate the SurefireX300 but getting a holster like that from Safariland in a timely manner right now is impossible. So, this will have to do in the meantime but I actually think its pretty cool and being universal I can practice/train/compete with a variety of different pistols on my belt now for only the $24 dollars I spent on the mount.

Thanks. And will do. No telling when that will be though. However, I have been told by more than one person that current wait times are only ("only") 4-6 months. We shall see.

                Cool.

How do you shoot that compared to your G17?

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

So this morning was the first time I competed with it; our club set up a fun little 2-gun course. Hard to say...I don't think I shot better with it but certainly didn't shoot any worse than the G17. I actually did come in 1st place today if that says anything lol. I definitively enjoy the ergonomics better on the VP9, it feels like the gun was molded for my hand. No blocky feeling whatsoever with this thing.

So my suppressor (tax stamp) hasn't arrived yet but my Safariland 6390-5932 holster just came in. Took 60 days exactly to get here. Can't wait to hit the field with it. Got some +4 mag extensions too.

Worked on the gun a bit the last few weeks as well. Not sure if it was necessary but I swapped out the stock plastic firing pin sleeve for a red aluminum one.

Also got rid of the cocking assist ears and installed factory flat ones. Then I changed out the backplate for a solid aluminum plate, eliminating the round cocking indicator window.

Those last two upgrades got rid of the two features that I honestly had little use for and at the same time gave the gun a much cleaner sight picture in my opinion.

just got a stack of stamps, and some were longer than a year, some less than 90 days

Dammit...walked in to a gunshop a few days ago and saw this limited edition beauty....I couldn't resist. I guess now I'll have a dedicated suppressed nightstand VP9 and this one will be my shooter.
