    Serbu super shorty

Anybody know where I can find 1? I'm located in stockton but I'm willing to travel but not super far. I cant seem to find any FFLs near me that deal in AOWs. If someone can point me in the right direction that will be super cool

Ask Serbu if he has any dealers near you.

Are you roster exempt? Because these are considered off roster handguns here. Also, ATF has been denying AOW transfer forms for CA residents.

Your best bet is to obtain a shotgun that has never been a long gun and apply for your own AOW manufacture approval. That seems to be the way most folks who have had success with ATF have done it.

You are very unlikely to find a FFL who deals with AOWs on the shelf in CA.

My advice, buy a KSG to scratch your short shotgun itch.

Form 1 one. It's much easier and faster.

+1 for just getting a KSG with much greater capacity.

I remember seeing one at Cordelia Gun Exchange a year or two ago. Maybe give them a try and they can walk you through the process.

This. My buddy got one here 6 months ago or so.

I called them and they said they stopped doing any AOWs because the FBI was taking to long to get back to them

I would just get the new Mossberg with the birdshead style pistol grip. It's more or less the same thing with slightly more capacity and takes the mini shells insert as well.

Call safety harbor. The can factory build a ssev2 single shot one afaik. Or form 1 a factory cruiser and build to ssev2 specs. ATF IS approving e-form 1's rather quickly.

How is that not a SBS per CA law? Not talking AOW or ATF.

The inconvenience of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a good bargain.

It is an SBS per CA penal code. It is exempt from needing a permit do to the fact it is a registered AOW. We have been getting form 4 approvals back o the ATF is approving them but painfully slow. That one we got back about two weeks ago was 12 months.

                              Under CA laws...

A firearm with a less than 16" barrel length is a handgun. [PC 16640(a)]
If the handgun also meets the CA definition of a SBR/SBS, then it is a SBR/SBS. [PC 16640(b)]

A firearm that can discharge shotgun shells and has a less than 18" barrel length is a SBS. [PC 17180(a)]

A Title 2 AOW is exempt from CA SBR/SBS laws. [PC 17710(a)]

Title 2 AOW are not exempt from CA unsafe handgun laws and CA assault weapons laws.

Therefore, in order to be CA legal and transferrable to a non-exempt person, the Title 2 AOW needs to be configured to comply with CA unsafe handgun laws and CA assault weapons laws.
