There's a place south of Vegas and a few miles north of Jean. It's east of the 15 and north of the dry lake; there's an old off-road race course that kind of parallels the paved road up around there a few miles off the old road to Vegas (also east of the 15). However, I haven't been there in a few years so I don't know if it's still open for recreational shooting.Comment

Here's the steps to follow to find a cool place to shoot in NV:
1) Put a map of NV on the wall.
2) Place a blindfold over your eyes
3) throw dart at map.
4) Look at location. Most likely it's BLM land.
5) drive to said location.
6) enjoy.

In all seriousness - there's so many amazing places in NV, and many of them are perfectly legal to shoot. I suggest getting a map of some of the blm land, and just going for a drive and making the day of it.
Just be aware that Clark county has some laws of it's own that are more restrictive then the rest of the state. These were in place before preemption was passed, and thus were grandfathered in. Clark county is NOT exactly the same as Rural Nevada - so just check that whatever you're thinking to do is Kosher first.Comment

Great spot. Shot there for years. Not too far from town.-A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.*

I thought I copied the coordinates correctly. Sorry, I can't check on my work computer. Try this:
From Flamingo Road take 15 north approx. 25.7 miles north. Exit Hwy 93, go left (northbound) toward Ely. Go 6.5 miles to a large dirt turnout on the right. Follow (east) it to the hills (about 1 mile) to the plateau. Very accessible, even with a small car. Last time I went, I drove a ford focus with no problems.
Here's the LINK to Google maps. At the destination, take the main dirt road directly east.
Hope this helps-A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.*
