    Finding a good gunsmith

I've used several gunsmiths in the past to do safety checks on new purchases and such. But I now want to get some repair and maybe some custom work done. How do you find a good gunsmith.

I noted that yelp has reviews on gunsmiths. Do gunsmiths typically have portfolios of their work?

Your location will help with some suggestion for a smith.

And the type of work you need done.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

If it is CZ rifle work, I PERSONALLY WILL NOT USE Tripple River Gunsmithing in MO.

Dan at Evolution Sports in Redlands (So Cal) is a great gunsmith. Taylor at Evolution (while not a gunsmith) has a keen eye at spotting simple function problems that I’ve overlooked.

I highly recommend Dan. He can fix anything, and most of the time very quickly.

Also, if you are in the market for a customized AK build, these are your go-to guys.

I live up in Oakland, but work in San Rafael. I'm not adverse to travelling as long as its not ludicrous. I have an old enfield revolver which needs re-timing. I have some old pistols (ww1 era) that have wood grips that are original and unobtainium if I were to damage them. I shoot my collection, so I want to have grips made that look good, but I don't have to worry about. I also keep throwing around the idea of re-bluing one of them.

My collection is entirely C&R, so I guess someone that is versed with those.
