has anybody taken one of these classes ? and after, did you get the permits ?

is there anybody around the concord area / bay area who is cert. to give these classes, instead of driving all the way back to nevada or down south ?

You can take the course in CA and you do get a Utah permit that is honored in 29 states. I have a class this Sunday in Livermore and the week after in Sacramento. Here is the link to the post on Calguns:

I know if you're a resident in NV, once you get your card - you just need to qualify and pay I think $5 for any additional gun you want to put on it. You do have to list the make/model of your carry gun - I don't believe specific serial number is a requirement. For additional guns, no additional classes or anything, just have to show you actually know how to use what you'll be carrying (qualify) and pay the fee. Open carry is legal here though - except in Clark County. Clark County (LV) has some fully laws of their own. We have preemption in NV, but Clark's laws pre-dated the pre-emption law, and were grandfathered in. They still stand today.

Here - the main thing with registering which gun you'll be carrying - is more a matter of ensuring you're not going to be a danger to yourself or others carrying a gun you're not capable of handling. If for example you have two of the same make and model gun - you do not need to requalify and add the 2nd of the two to your permit. you qualified with one, it's assumed the other (which is essentially the exact same) will be the same.

Only thing Clark County kept that was not swept away with the pre-emption law was the handgun registration ("blue card") requirement.

You do not need to list or register your firearms on the Utah permit. There is also no requirement to qualify with the handguns that you plan on carrying with the Utah permit. If you have a 9mm Glock and then decide to buy a 1911, you may carry the 1911 without changing anything on your permit.

If you choose to get a permit issued by NV, you must take the course in NV and qualify with the weapons that you plan on carrying.

The Nevada permit does list the model of firearm you used to qualify with, example Glock 17 if that's what you used. If you used a revolver it will only say revolver on the permit and you can carry any model of a revolver.

Nevada honors a non-resident Utah license, that's the easy way to go and you can carry in many more states...
