Duracoat - your labeling skills suck

Duracoat's Magpul FDE: which pic below shows it?

Here's my AR with the Duracoat "Magpul FDE" - notice the Pmag and CTR stock, both of which are genuine Magpul and both of which are Magpul FDE. The lower and fake can are in Duracoat "Magpul FDE", the pistol grip is Tango Down in FDE:

    Same gun.
    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

I know the answer but I'll keep quiet so everyone else can play.

Indeed, but possibly not the same finish.

          Wasn't this rattle can goodness?

ETA: I think its the same finish, just an indoor and outdoor pic.

Those are the notches for a scope. All Desert Eagle's have them.

Well, since the uber-popularity I had envisioned for this quiz is not to be, I'll spill teh beenz.

Pic one is Magpul FDE Duracoat, applied with airbrush and officially "non-bubba".

Pic two is Rustoleum Dark Taupe, applied with rattlecan supremacy and officially "bubba".

The Duracoat is considerably nicer stuff, but I am really quite dissapointed in Laurer's use of the term "Magpul" in their "Magpul FDE." It is not "Magpul", nor is it close. I did the lower of my AR and the color is quite distinct from the color of my Magpul CTR stock and Magpul PMag in FDE.

If it isn't the EXACT SAME COLOR, then DO NOT LABEL IT AS SUCH. That's called false advertising, and if I were of the mind, I'd summon the gods of law and smite Laurer's with a harmless lawsuit just to teach them a lesson.

I matched Magpul's FDE much better with some rattlecan wizardry - check out what I managed to do with two different colors of aerosol Rustoleum:

If I can do that on my back porch, why can't Duracoat's makers? Especially when I am paying $30 for the paint???

One is a IMI (Made in Israel) and inported by Magnum Research and the top is a true Magnum Research Desert Eagle (Made in USA)

The stock is unmolested factory FDE, direct from from Magpul. I matched the upper and lower to Magpul's FDE, which may be very similar to coyote brown. Hard to keep all the fancy artistic names for tan straight these days....
