President's plan to slow gun crime !

"The best way to reduce gun violence is to put criminals with firearms behind bars," Trump said to applause from the audience. "And just so you understand, we will always protect our Second Amendment..."

Yes, "we will always protect our Second Amendment...unless it means protecting bump stocks. Then we'll throw 2A under the buss just as fast as we can. Oh, and we're going to throw National Reciprocity under too to keep the bump stocks company. Oh yea, and due process too on Red Flag restraining orders...take the guns and follow up with due process later...maybe...if we feel like it."

And don't get me wrong. Trump is definitely better than the alternative. But he's a far cry from being Pro 2a.

Lets not forget there are some very stupid people he needs to help him get re-elected and for the record he said he would sign national reciprocity .
I don't believe he signed anything regarding red flag laws and its likely he will not after talking with the NRA who he truly respects.

The bump stock thing has been discussed ad nauseam and I like many others thought it best to throw this worthless piece of garbage under the bus to stop other worse restrictions.

need BATFE to start prosecuting small time folks....

18 months for a machine gun being made by an illegal with prior felonies- not enough of a deterrent

You can get away with murder in Chicago.
"Chicago's homicide clearance rate – the percentage of cases in which police arrest or identify a suspect – fell from 17.1 in 2017 to 15.4 during the first six months of 2018"

"Chicago police solve one in every 20 shootings. Here are some reasons why that's so low."
After 74 people were shot over one of the city’s most violent weekends in more than two years, Chicago police said they would flood the city’s crime-wracked neighborhoods with hundreds more cops while acknowledging that no…

I'm not so sure strapped criminal bartenders is a good idea.

But I'm willing to give it a try.

Exactly. And let's be honest, the bump stock is a workaround of existing federal law. Anyone claiming otherwise is being obtuse. Why certain gun owners are so short sighted in their thinking that they failed to recognize the strategic need to deal with the bump stock is beyond me.

Defending the bump stock at all cost is analogous to Hitler ordering his troops to not retreat and die in place. The inability to make the transition for the philosophical / theoretical world into the real world, especially with politics and combat, is a quality that leads to failure. Kinda like focusing on the battle and not the war. Another WW2 analogy would be Stalingrad.
