    AOW in CA

Anyone done an AOW in CA? Thinking about doing a RAW AR pistol lower to live the VFG life. Just wondering if you got any pushback from CELO or anything similar.

If the OAL is >26", then no need to fill out paperwork. If <26", fill out your form 1, 200 dollars, and wait. Now with ATF 41F, all you have to do is notify your CLEO instead of needing their signature. Certainly helps with anti 2A CLEOs.

CLEO is only a notification no need for a sign off any longer. Include evidence that your firearm is CA compliant or it will get kicked back. i.e. AW paperwork. Form 1 and 4's are taking 8-12 months. Feel free to call if you have any questions.

I didn't want to be the test dummy for the OAL thing so I filed an eform 1 last christmas to register my pistol as an AOW. I used this reddit guide which was a very thorough step by step through the process. Mine got delayed a bit for an unknown reason but I had my stamp within a few months. Assuming all goes as planned, you should have yours in a few weeks at most. There are threads on ar15.com and reddit that you can follow to get an idea of when people filed and when they are getting their stamps.

I have no idea so.....why would you AOW your pistol? Is AOW the way to own those shotguns with short stock and barrel?

You just need to notify CLEO, their approval is not needed. Also, eFile Form 1 are coming back within a month, most less than 2 weeks.
