As always, it's not about guns, it's about control.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

The people who want to protect you from the criminals getting that gun and using it on you. Laws like this cut down on crime. Criminals have to go find "safe guns" to buy. Only the 'unsafe guns" should be sold to LEO's,and so you are SOOL. So see, all you need is some convoluted logic and it all makes perfect sense. Anyone that wants to buy a handgun is a pre-homocidal person anyway. Get a clue.

I can't think of a single law enforcement agency that issues a pistol in .22 LR for duty! In that case nobody should have a Ruger MKII. The last time I looked, Sacramento's army of cops were packing the .40 S&W, 12 guage shotguns and in some cases a centerfire Colt .223 AR-15. My local sheriff uses the Glock 9mm's and the city police are armed with a H&K pistol. None are packing a .22 LR on the job.

Buying non-police weapons with a badge used to be the way to get busted by the feds. There are also federal excise taxes to be paid on firearms, which are not being used on company time. The BATFE nailed two crooked Capitola officers with a bunch of handguns, not used by law enforcement agencies back in 1978. A FFL picked up the phone and reported those strange gun purchases to field office over in San Jose.

And nobody should have a non-safe gun period. We had a butter fingered deputy dawg shoot a teenager by accident with his county issued Glock 9mm about 10 years ago. Is some cop gonna buy that .22 caliber pop gun, so he can shoot pack rats at the dump on a slow night?

Well part of the problem is when you expect Government or laws to make sense and or do the right thing.

Can't really apply logic to these sorts of laws and regulations...you'll just drive yourself crazy.

I love the title of your post, it reflects on the majority of the voters and the results we all have to deal with.
Screw the environment! The sooner we trash this place the sooner we will have the political will to explore space and conquer the known universe, spreading like locust we will plunder, crush new enemies, take their women and if we are lucky, we shall meet our fate on the battlefield.

Don't forget in the middle of the budget crisis the state government tried to ban balloons....

If your dog is "intact" you are now a criminal...

Forget open carry, just walking your dog down the street carrying a balloon is enough to get you in trouble in our beautiful Nanny-state....

Seriously, stop thinking or your head will explode.
