Rifle Photography - Feedback?

Hi all. I recently took a camera to some of the rifles in my collection, with some effort to take 'museum-quality' albums of them.

I'm pretty proud of how they turned out - I'm no photographer, but it was pretty fun. I'm wondering what people think of these, in case I want to do it for other people's arms as well. (And maybe, just to show off a little bit )

Nice work! That would be very useful to your insurance agent, as well! I have all my guns on a rider insured for replacement value. I send him a new spreadsheet with pics every now and then as "inventory" turns over. I'm not even sure if I have to do that or not, but when I go more than 9 months without sending him a new one he asks if there have been any major changes, so I guess he appreciates it. Anyway, nice work.

those are very well done. I'd love to have some pics like that of my collection. Lighting is always my most difficult issue. Plus having the distances correct to get a full length shot without distortion (or toes). And super nice grain pattern on that M39, just beautiful. Mine isn't nearly as pretty, but is also a Chatellerault.

Thanks for all the compliments. Glad you like them.

The camera was a borrowed Eos 6D with an ultrawide lens. The lighting was all the Ikea floor lamps in my house, bouncing off my low, white ceiling to diffuse it. All very professional

My favorite picture is the key photo in your Mauser album. I like how the middle of the receiver is in focus, and the bokeh adds depth as you look from there.

Some the pics are really nice the way there's a blurred shadow, again adding depth to the scene. There were a couple where I though the shadows were too harsh, but that's entirely a matter of personal preference.

Keep up the good work and please share your next set.

Nice pics i like the lighting shows the details. one thing there is some distortion on some pics. Not sure if your using a wide angle or a standard zoom. Maybe try stopping down more on the f stop. also i like a bit more background to a picture to give a certain feel. But nice pics overall. Nothing distracts from the main subject.
