    Transfering and selling pre ban

    Hey everyone im in need of some knowledge! My pops has a rifle and wants to sell or trade. Its one of those passed back and forth from friends and familly members and has no idea who's name its under. Whats needed to transfer the name or to sell. Any info is greatly appreciated.

      If it's a run of the mill bolt/lever non detachable magazine rifle or shotgun, there is nothing needed to do except sell it in a legal manner. Meaning through a FFL.

      Now if it's a AW style rifle, then is it listed? Does it have a detachable magazine/pistol grip?

      Long guns are not registered in California so there is no worry about it being registered, prior to 1991 handguns were not registered either, so there are many many guns in California, that have never been registered. It is not illegal.

      EDIT-

      You said preban, so now I'm thinking it's a AW style weapon.

      We definitely need to know what brand and model it is. Depending on your answer, you may want to be careful.
