    Ar pistol folding stock question

Is there a legal length requirement for ar pistols? Can I have a law tactical folder?

16" barreled upper. To have a folding gun you probably will need a 24" barrel. And magazine locking.

Apparently the stock needs to close to enable firing. Probably treated like the kel tec folding rifle.

This is correct(fixed mag only required if pistol is semiauto)^^^

If you want to add a vertical foregrip to it without AOW tax stamp, make sure you measure to the end of barrel or permanently attached muzzle device with the folding brace FOLDED.

It will need to be 26” or longer.

Oh and 0P don’t you mean mean folding brace -not folding stock?

You do not have your state listed. If you are in California a stock on a pistol is pretty much not happening.

Stock versus brace is a big difference legally.

The law tactical folding buffer tube mechanism can fire while folded, but since the buffer tube is out of the way the bolt carrier won't move, meaning that it won't eject the spent cartridge or load in a new one unless the buffer tube is straight.

Don't put a a stock on a pistol. If you did that then it wouldn't be a pistol anymore.

There isn't a minimum length limit for a pistol, so you can make your already owned AR pistol shorter.

Unless you have BATFE approval and CA DOJ approval it is illegal to attach a folding stock on an AR pistol.
The resulting firearm is considered a SBR.

Within the USA, making/possessing a SBR requires BATFE approval.
^No BATFE approval equates to a Federal felony.

Within CA, possessing a SBR requires CA DOJ approval.

I think OP meant a “folding brace”.
