    Gun safe for rifles

Are the Kodiak, Rhino Metals gun safe worth a look? I need something a bit larger to store as much "stuff" as I can and the 54 gun mod. just might be large enough. I already have one smaller gun safe but it's not enough storage, rather than get another small one I would rather get one bigger one. What say you?

Depends where the safe is going.
On concrete it won't matter. On a raised floor foundation? I would think the floor will need to be reinforced. Second floor? I think not.
Imho 2 are better than one. 3 is even better.
All in one spot makes it easier for the thief. Smaller ones throughout the home, so one has access in multiple rooms.
    But that's just me.

Concrete floor in the garage. I see your point on several and had thought of it but then I would have to reinforce the raised flooring to cope with the weight. I'm not in Calif. and crime here is "far less" than there but yes it is always on my mind

be careful in the garage if you have a working garage like I do. I originally placed my safe in the garage and a friend laughed and said it was nice of me to provide a potential thief with pry bars and even a plasma cutter all within a few feet of the safe.

I moved it into the house

Residential/home garage, they have to bring their own cutter I don't have one.

Just because someone has a large gun locker doesn't mean its full of guns, might just be the big decoy with very little in it. People "key" on things, a thief more than likely would think that a large locker has a lot of things in it, maybe yes maybe no but they would defiantly go after it thinking it does. At any rate thanks for the info.

That's the ticket. Put a big safe in your garage and bolt it down, then hide all your guns in the attic.

That happened to my Dad's neighbor. Kept his safe in the garage and the thief used the grinder sitting on the workbench next to his safe to cut the side out of the thing and take all his stuff.

Don’t discount the cost of shipping/moving. Many times delivery is included but only curbside. You’ll then need professional movers to get it inside. Bolting to the floor is no guarantee of theft prevention. A guy I encountered years ago had one bolted to the floor in an upstairs closet in his condo. Thieves broke in, rocked it back & forth to free it and slid it on its back down the stairs and out the front door.

If it's not bolted to a proper slab, you should probably bolt it to the wall as well. Of course, you'll be doing some minor carpentry & drywall so maybe not in a rental.

I wouldn't put anything I valued in the attic, attics get real hot when the house burns.
