I recently picked up a Chrony chronograph that was pretty worthless. Probably only read 1/10 shots with the 9 others giving "Err2" (second sensor didn't read). Any recommendations for a better one that is good for all-around use? I shoot centerfire, air rifles and archery so I'd like one that offers enough space to fling an arrow through (kind of rules out the upside-down ones) but can still pick up a small .17 pellet.

I've had a ProChrono Pal that has worked 100% for the last 15 years. Its just a basic model < $100 but has always done what I needed. I take the 9V battery out between uses. -

My Chrony works great. Maybe there is a defective sensor and just needs warranty service?Comment

Right. You had the sunshades on, right? Don't use it at high noon, earlier or later is best. I think it says that in the instructions.
Mine worked great, right up until I blasted them.Comment

I have 2 chronographs ; Competition Electronics & Oehler.
The Oehler is a lit PITA to set up but extremely accurate & precise. So if I'm just swaging it, the CE is fine.
I'd probably get a LabRadar if I was starting from scratch but they are a bit pricey. A huge jump up from a Chrony.Anyone press will hear the fat lady sing.

I also have 2 I was given one of the cheaper ones and thought that it would be more convenient than the Oehler. I used it once or twice and decided that if I want to Chronograph something I want good data. So I end up dragging the Oehler out.I have 2 chronographs ; Competition Electronics & Oehler.

The Oehler is a pain to set up, but it is very accurate and mine is probably 30 years old and still working fine.Comment
