Selling at Crossroads of the West Question

I would like to bring my 686 competitor w/Trijicon and sell it at the gun show this weekend. I have never done that before. Do you check the weapon in and just go to each table and say, " Hey here is what I want to sell"?

Tried to sell already on gunbroker and here, but the offers were beyond bad.

The "tables" are going to be sellers not buyers so they would be offering you wholesale to turn a profit themselves.
I used to see guys walking around with a rifle slung on their shoulder with a flag sticking out if the muzzle reading "for sale". But I think that practice has been banned.
Yes, gun get checked at the entry by a Sheriff and get zip tied or something.

Apparently the booth payers didn't like entrants bringing their guns in to sell. Now you have to 'pay to play'.

Chances are that table sitters are going to offer far less than gunbroker bidders. They don't want your gun for themselves. They want to get it extremely cheap to re-sell at a profit.

        Maybe your price is unrealistic.

It will sell here if you price it accordingly. I have never had an issue selling here as long as my prices were competitive. When you need to bump something 10+ times you should revisit your price. Your gun is desirable but not a rare collectible, and should sell at the right price. If you bring it to a dealer at the show remember he can buy it wholesale.

            This should be a sticky.

A lack of interest, or a succession of low ball bids,

should be your clue that either your price (often near retail ) is simply too high

or no one wants to bail you out of your costly customized gun.

Market value is whatever two people are willing to exchange product for cash. Not what the seller paid or what they think it is worth...

Ummm, I priced my weapon at $100 above wholesale with the site, so I think it is well priced. When something costs 1900, that means the wholesale is $1000. I am priced at $1100. I sell an awful lot of things and have never heard noise about pricing

Wholesale for your .357 new is $1000.00, and you want $1100.00 used? You won’t hear “noise about pricing” here since it’s not allowed, it just wont sell as in your case. I just listed 3 shotguns in the FS forum, two immediately sold. They were pretty desirable guns and they were priced to sell. The third is still there unsold. Obviously not as desirable and not cheap enough right now. Last bump #3, and if no luck I will remove it and try another time.

Most of gun show table sitters can buy brand new for wholesale, or less. They aren't going to pay more than that for your used gun. My guess is most offers will be $500-$600 if it's $1000 wholesale for new. That's because a savvy shopper will probably only pay $800 for it.

And it is now at a great price on day 1 back on gunbroker.

Nobody at these shows is going to care what you have. You'll already be 30.00 in the hole just getting in. Your best bet is to list it here.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you'll do better than you would have at a gun show.
