    ?? savage 10 FCP-HS (#18139) vs. Stealth or $1500

Wanting long range .308 , the FCP feels good in hands. It has 24" barrel, which sounds about right, but going shorter dont sound right to me. I'm sure savage knows more than me, but I'm stumped on why the savage Stealth, is only 20", and considered a precision gun.

I just dont see where it would have the accuracy the 24". I was even contemplating going the 26" stainless from savage, but there fluted, and I dont like the formation of the stock on the VLP, as much as I do the 10 FCP

I want best outa box gun, for the money, doesnt neccessarily need to be savage. $1300 for the 10 fcp. I wouldnt mind going a couple extra hundred for something better, but I'm not seeing that. Before we buy, I just wanted to get some opinions, or someone correct my thoughts if they feel different. Also, is the link below a Mc Millan stock? Anyone know how the one in link, is the LE model or how it is different. Tried to call savage tech dept., but they don't know. Also, I'm all ears on anyones elses preference on stocks. thanks

No, it's not a McMillan, it's HS Precision, it says so right in the description and even the model name.

      Why not 6.5 Creedmoor ?

I have the savage be stealth 6.5 creedmoor. I only changed the stock.
The other savage mdls you listed I Think use savage mags only. $100 each.

Also look at the Ruger RPR.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
      I'm Back.
