is a gen 5 a two piece spring? i heard there were problems w/ the two piece on the gen 4's. i figure idf the gen 3 works great, why change. Erion, thank you for the mention of the youtube video

Yesh. There were problems with the Gen 4's when they came out but Glock ironed it out.

or just buy a SA XD9

since Gen 4 / Gen 5 are not available , I picked up the XD9 for something different, no finger grooves, has the double recoil spring like a Gen 4, has steel sights, ambi magazine release, a nice hybrid polymer 9mm pistol.
