Out of state ppt gun transfer question

I know this is a topic that has been covered numerous times, and I've searched and read quite a bit about it, and everyone has a slight different situation and interpretation so it confused the hell out of me. What I am looking to do is:

I am looking to buy a XD9, bud's gun shop has got it for a good package deal but it comes with a 16rd mags, and being in CA, we can't have that. A good friend of mine moved to OH from CA, so he is now a OH resident and can pick it up for me and then do a out of state ppt transfer to me. If I do that, can he transfer the 16rd mags to me? If not, can he transfer the xd9 with no mags, and mail it separately? or I can just buy some 10rd and have it transferred with the gun.

Ultimate goals is to get a XD9 and save a few bucks.

No magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Period end of story.

Also, a PPT is a tansaction between two people of the same state at a FFL here in California. By your own words he's a resident of Ohio, so there is no way a private party transaction can be done unless he is here.

There is no out of state ppt

      Hawk1 has it.

As things stand, OH-CA is an interstate transfer; PPT is for two CA residents, as established by CA identification from both parties.

That's a lot of back and forth for no reason.

Jut buy the gun from Buds, have them swap the mags out for 10 rounders, if they don't have any, they may give you a price break, and then order 10 rounders for yourself from another source.

PPT is a term used in California that denotes 2 residents of California meeting at a FFL to sell/buy a handgun, and there is a $35 fee limit imposed by law.

For a FTF(Face To Face) they can meet, but the FFL can charge whatever he wants as it is handles as a Inter State transfer. Notice when you read other boards, you never see the term PPT, it's always "will ship, but prefer FTF in Dallas" or where ever the seller is located.
