Ok, I have been buying reloading accessories and gun parts on Ebay for 8 years. I have even sold some stuff on there. So, today I tried to post and sell some Herra arms CQD buttstocks and fore grips. No matter what I did I was denied and could not do it. Interestingly, I bought the stock on their site years ago. I called their customer service and after 45 min with one rep I was transferred to some other rep. I was told that they no longer will sell items that are part of "Assault Weapons" (their choice of words, not mine). I told them that I typed AR-15 buttstock in the search and some came up, I was told they are working to have them all removed, and this is a new policy, and they are trying to do their part. So, I lost it and went off on the rep. What was said exactly is not important, they are not going to sway or change their stance on the issue at all. Its bad enough I have to live in California for five more years, and now I have to have this outlet locked up too. I am going to close my account on principle and just pay more on other sites.

Had that happen with a butt stock pad, birdcage, misc. You can still get it done just have to word it differently. Like you I had purchased it on Ebay also and it's a pain but ebay has the largest reach so if you want to sell it on there you will have to follow their rules. A lot times just list the item with a generic description and a stock or inventory code. Some people might have even put paintball or airsoft even though they can be used on actual firearms. One example is if you use numbers like .223 instead of 5.56 or rifle instead of ar-15.
