Are shield triggers really that bad? I never handled one, I have been reading opinions about the gun and the majority of the gun is the trigger. How is the resets?

My own personal experience with the Shield is that it isn't that terrible of a trigger. Easy to somewhat manage since you come to the wall pretty predictably. The wall was pretty stiff and although the break was ok, I notice that in dry firing that the gun jumped afterwards. Never a problem with Glocks, XD or Sigs.
My biggest complaint with the Shield is that since the grip is so small, it has a tendency to twist in my hand after each shot.Les Baer 1911: Premier II w/1.5" Guarantee, Blued, No FCS, Combat Rear, F/O Front, Checkered MSH & SA Professional Double Diamond Grips

Trigger is fine for its intended purpose. No issues here with it.

Did some dry fire today, so its fresh in my mind. I like the Shield as a carry gun. The trigger is decent. A bit of take-up and a reasonably crisp break at about six pounds. The reset can be a problem if you are looking for a short and very positive reset. Mine has a sort of false reset after about 1/8 of an inch and the more positive actual reset after another 1/8. I practice letting it off further than needed in order to ensure a reset. Early on, under slow fire while practicing follow through, I did not always get a reset. My IA does not want us changing triggers.Last edited by AtomicOrange; 09-22-2019, 8:43 PM.Comment

No complaints for either of my stick Shield triggers. I get pretty consistent .23-.25 splits at 5 yds with them.
I recently put an Apex on one to give it a try and am adding one to the other, I didn't find it greatly better but enough to justify another. The biggest thing I noticed is the muzzle no longer twitches a bit when the sear releases, XDJYO noticed the same "jump" I believe he called it.
Somebody noted above the gun moves around in their hand some. I find the Shield to be pretty grip sensitive but once you figure out how to make your hands cover as much of the grip surface as possible they are pretty dang consistently accurate.
I recently have tried Tru Glo TFX Pro, Ameriglo I Dot and Trijicon HD.
While I like the Tru Glo sights a lot for daylight use the Trijicon are far away the best overall EDC sights for the way my eyes work. All of the new sights have reduced transition times and made plates easier to hit consistently for me than the stock sights.
I'm not sure if I would have ever bought one if I did not live in Ca but for what we are given to deal with in our anti 2A state I think they are a great choice.
With the Apex, Trijicon and Magguts 2 Plus it's a pretty dang decent compromise.Comment

I don't know where you are located, but we have a demo shield with an Apex installed and stock ones so you can compare right next to each other, I really prefer the Apex personally
