    Hearing Protection/Earplugs

I just wonder if anyone of you tried this brand called Big Ear. Just watched this video and I'm a bit curious about how I can get the perfect fit if I'll be the one to get my ear impressions myself. They got some good products and I consider getting a pair from them but I'm just a bit hesitant. I may just meet one of their service provider but I'm still not sure. Any of you got recommendations?

    Thanks!

I can't comment on that specific company, but the ear plugs on their website are the "correct shape" for the fully custom plugs that I wear (made by a local company in So CA) - they would mix a binary compound and inject it into your ear, so it perfectly matches your ear canal shape.

It's the only ear plug that has ever worked for me. It would seal all the gaps and there is a sudden loss of environmental noise as you insert them. I wear such plugs at all times at my shooting matches, even if I double up with MSA Sordins when I actually shoot. Hearing loss is cumulative, and doubling up helps.

I have several Big Ear products, I travel a lot and have Bose in the ear noise cancelling ear plugs, i don't like the big over the ear noise cancelling muffs on the plane. The plugs just never fit my ears correctly and wearing them for a 10+ hour flight to Europe really hurt. I got Big Ear to make custom inserts for the Bose and now can fly to Europe with no pain. I also have the Big Ear riders plugs for my motorcycle and what they call "The One" that takes inserts to control how many DB's you want to reduce, those are great at race tracks, for normal noise, I put in the 9DB inserts, for F1 I put in the 25DB inserts, not tried those for shooting. I had them do the fitting of my ears at a racetrack where they were setup, for my wife I got their home kit and did it for her, she has rider plugs and one insert for the plantronics phone headset she uses at work all day.

For shooting I use ESP digital hearing protection.

Yeah, I have hearing issues and desperately trying to keep what hearing I have left.
