    Help ID this sight

Removed from my Sig 716. Front was a Troy sight, back has no name that I can find. Cheapie or what? It feels solid.

Did you own this gun brand new from Sig? If so, and it was shipped like that from Sig, it is probably a fair quality product.

Those allen bolts - do they take US or METRIC wrench? If metric, good sign that it is cheapo China junk.

It looks very much like a Rock River LAR-8 rear, which is marked for 7.62 ballistics. It could also be a clone, because I see a few differences. Then again it could be an earlier version or just another version from the same OEM supplier that was provided to Sig.

Check the wrench fit, that will tell you a lot (US vs METRIC)

Rock River Arms, Inc. offers a complete line of American made, custom built AR15 style rifles.

that particular style of sight is made by manufacturers from NCStar to Troy and others. The quality of the manufacture varies widely depending on the manufacturer.

Having no name on the sight is not a good sign. Almost all reputable manufacturers put their name or logo on their products even if they have a subcontractor make the item for them. When we have to ID counterfeit parts/products at work that's one of the first things we look for.

I had one of those, got it from Amazon years ago. Paid about $10 for it. Crudely machined, wouldn't hold zero, and eventually fell apart.

OP, I hope your's is better built than the one I had.
