Hello everybody. I recently got an older mec 600 for reloading shotshells and it's been going pretty good. I use it for 1oz birdshot and I started to wonder if I decide I want to load up some 00/000 buckshot is the procedure as simple as using the same load data I've been using and weighing the pellets to 1oz and dropping it in? Or is it not that simple?

OP,
Find a local shotgun shooting club near you and ask those guys about Reloading 12 gauge. Shotgun shooters shoot a lot.
Now they may very well not be up on Reloading for slugs and 00 Buck. But it's a great place to get started on the basics non the less.
Keep in mind the shotgun is extremely versatile.
At the local gun shows, I often see component 000 or 0 buckshot selling cheap. 12 gauge slugs as well. Some guy has the slug
in the wrong configuration & weight and the reloader then assumes the components are worthless so he sells said components at worthless prices.
Purchasing buck shot & slugs from 'Don't Wanters' is the key to economical shotgun reloading. Same goes for shotgun reloading manuals.Comment

You absolutely need to get the Lyman manual for shotshell reloading. Has tons of load data and info from birdshot to buckshot and slugs, steel shot etc. I load all of the above and have yet to have any issue whatsoever. Best of luck!Comment
