Anyone been to Rahaugee's?

I went there for the shooting fair a year ago but have never been just to rent a bay. Does it get really crowded and do they inspect your weapons for "California legal" like their website says?

It is a bit expensive (check the prices their website), and it gets crowded FAST. Especially on weekends. I have seen a 3 hour wait to get a pistol bay on a Saturday afternoon. The upside is that it is one of the few ranges where you can rapid fire, draw from a holster, shoot pretty much any caliber including HD shotgun, and they hardly hassle you about anything. That is why it's worth the money if a desert trip is too far for you. I can't recall them checking my weapon for featureless. They do check shotguns if you shoot clays to make sure you aren't shooting a HD gun.

Went on a weekday with my son. They were chill and we had a good time. Setup a chrony without hassle. They only wanted to ensure targets were set close to the downrange berm. We did not need to wait for a range and we were able to stay about 40 minutes longer than the two hours until someone else came along. Ranges are a bit short. Will go back.

Years ago when they decided to reconfigure the burms back-to-back I said “that’s an accident waiting to happen”.
I prayed nothing would go bad after that but vowed I’d never go back.

. . . Then it happened a few years later with that USPSA shooter catching it from the front backstop, then passing away.

There’s a lot of examples of range operators being loose on safety in the name of making more $$$. I won’t stand for that!

They removed those extra ranges after the death.

I was there 2 weeks ago.I think it’s 32 dollars to get in and it’s a lot of fun.nobody check or hassle you for anything.

Our bay had two wooden tables and a popup shade tent. And two old school chairs (bring your own, if you want to sit).

I live down the street from Rahaugee's. I'd be in for a range trip if you come up for the weekend (granted if the wife is working or not)
