    Moving a Safe cross country.

I have a safe in North Carolina that I need to move to California. It is the size of a large refrigerator. ( so I cannot lift it or move it). 1200 lbs. Any companies or ideas on how to move it? What do you think cost would be?
    Anyone done this?

    Thanks

To get a price, you're going to have to call some national freight carriers that are based locally where the safe is at. But it's probably going to cost A LOT because carriers will charge you based on the dimensions and weight of the cargo and it sounds like you got a monster of a safe and it's THOUSANDS OF AWAY. And if it's not already on a pallet ready to move, they may not even deal with you. Might want to sell it locally and use that money towards a new one, or haul it yourself. Uhaul

I had thought about selling it there.. and buying a new one here.. but i would take a big loss.. But the cost to move it may not be worth it either..
I cannot do the Uhaul thing because i cant move it or lift it or.... (not on a pallet) I will probably have to sell it there.

Call Mayflower, They may be able to incorporate it in moving load.

when i moved from NJ to CA, I shipped my car for ~900 using auto train or something like that -- just to give you a ball park.

Do you have the time to drive it out?
