You do realize that what "AR" stands for is ENTIRELY MEANINGLESS to the issue of "assault weapons", right?

I feel really bad for anyone who couldn't tell that the tweets in question were a joke. The same guy also claimed that the "15" in "AR-15" is because it was the 15th gun invented. The whole point of the joke is to get people to make threads like this.

First of all, this dude on Twitter just trolled the crap out of the dummies replying to him. Its completely obvious that he's trolling.

But besides that, i don't get what people think they are proving or how it helps the argument to point out that AR in AR-15 doesn't stand for Assault Rifle. It doesn't help our argument. At all. It does the opposite. It trivializes our position. It's just like pointing out the incorrect use of "clip" to mean magazine. People that do this need to be throat punched.
