LASD Finds Full Auto Thompson

Ummm, that looks like a modern Auto-Ordnance replica. Barrel length gives it away, unless it was converted to a full auto form.
Another one of those "oooo, scary gun!" moments. Not supporting the parolee in this matter, but no need for ignorant propaganda from a sheriff's office.*sniff* *sniff* Commies... -
Sure looks like it has a Bullet-Button plate on the right side, forward of the trigger guard (where the left side than has an additional plate, where the machine screws go through to the other side). That's even the modern Doskocil case they came in.
So let's get this straight... you have a guy with a couple of Uberti Single-Action Army replicas, a Henry or Uberti Lever Action...
...and then he just happens to have what is clearly a semi-auto Kahr/Thompson modern .45ACP Carbine, converted to full-auto - and he kept the bullet-button device on it?
Now he might be in trouble for having not registered it if that's the case, and it's still sporting a pistol-grip, forward grip, with bullet-button, but I highly suspect that thing is not full auto.
Should change title to:
"Dumb LASD Finds Bullet-Buttoned Semi-Auto Thompson - Thinks it's Full Auto".-----------------------------------------------

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

They left out a key detail, was this the parolees residence? Not ever being on parole or closely knowing anyone who was, what are the rules on that? I assume if you are that you cannot have weapons in your residence, but if you own firearms does that bar you from having family/ acquaintances on parole in your home? Unless this is the parolees residence, they are very likely not even their weapons. In that case this would be extremely misleading.Comment
